One of the familiar bread you can see in japan. Bread cover by some cookie. The shape is like honey dew, thats why it called meron pan (honey dew bread)

In the mean time, prepare the cookie. Beat butter until creamy. Add in sugar and beat again until it become white.
Add egg and mix well until blended.
Sift flour and baking powder into the bowl from step 2 and mix well until it become a dough. Divide the dough into 2 parts.
Combine a part of dough with chocolate chips.
Let the other part without chocolate chips.
Wrap both of the dough with plastic wrap and freeze in a refrigerator for at least 20 minutes.
When the breadmaker has finished the dough cycle, take the dough out and punch down air
Divide the dough into 10 portions and circle each portion.
Bench time for 10-15 minutes. Place wet cloth on the dough.
Take out the dough for cookie from the refrigerator and divide into 10 portions (5 with chocolate chips and 5 without chocolate chips)
Roll each dough of cookie as shown in the picture
Cover the top of each bread with the cookie as shown in the picture
Put the cookie on the bread into a container contains sugar as shown in the picture
Slice the cookie part as shown in the picture.
Let it rise double, about 35-40 minutes at 30 degree
