Black Forest Cheesecake
Having to cook a German dessert for a class, I figured I could make Black Forest Cake... but when all I had was cheesecake, I somehow came up with this instead. ;)

Ingredients ( 6-8 servings, depending on size of slices )
- 1 21.4 oz. box Jello No-Bake Cheesecake Mix
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 6 tbsp butter (melted)
- 1 ½ cups of milk
- 1 can or tub of whipped cream
- 1 bottle of chocolate syrup
- 1 jar of Maraschino cherries
- 1 bag of large chocolate chips
Directions
-
Crust:
Pour crust mix included in the box into a bowl and add 2 tbsp. of sugar and 6 tbsp. of melted butter. Mix until thoroughly even. Add chocolate syrup 1 tbsp. at a time until you reach desired color and taste. Spread along the bottom of the pie pan, and chill until ready to cover with filling.
-
Filling:
Pour 1 ½ cups of cold milk into a medium sized bowl. Add filling mix. Beat with an electric mixer at low speed for 30 sec. and then at medium speed for 3 min. until the filling is quite thick. Spread about half of the filling on top of the crust. Sprinkle with chopped cherries and chocolate bits as you see fit. Drizzle with chocolate syrup. Now spoon the remainder of the filling on top of the cherries and chocolate. Smooth the surface so that it may be topped.
-
Topping:
Line the edge of the cheesecake with “pillows” of whipped cream the entire way around, each just big enough for a single cherry. Set a cherry on each one. Drizzle some of the juice from the cherries over the surface of the cheesecake, and let it set for 1 min. Then decorate with chocolate syrup and chocolate chips as you see fit. Refrigerate 2 hours before serving.
